The last time i went to Tawangmangu was around 2005. It was plain and boring. All you can and will see there is just mountains, rice fields, nothing interesting. I kept thinking about that until last weekend i went there again with relatives from Jakarta and MY 30D.. It was hard for me to understand that mountains and rice fields were everything that people from big cities would beg to see. A little exaggeration there..
Semarang to Tawangmangu is about 2-3 hours by car (nonstop). The route is Semarang-Solo-Karanganyar-Tawangmangu.
Banaran Cafe
We took off from Semarang around 8am. On our way to Tawangmangu, we took a little break in Banaran Cafe, Bawen. We had cups of coffee and tea, and lots of gorengan (Indonesian deep fries). Here are some photos i took. Take a look.
Tawangmangu
A few hours later, after hundreds of rightturns and leftturns. We finally arrived in Tawangmangu. I was so amazed when i got there. Remember that i said it was plain and boring??? I was dead wrong…or stupid. Seriously. Just grab your camera and aim it at any spot there. BAM!!! You get a nice photo. Take a look.
In those photos, I just messed around with my own Portrait picture style and the crazy Velvia 50 that i got from here. Take a look at other photos that i got from messing around with those.
It’s so interesting, isn’t it?? A great place and the will to experiment are a good combination to take good pictures. And for your information, I even got the sunset and the rainbow at the exact same time..
Outbond
Another great thing to do in Tawangmangu is to try some outbond games in Griya Gayatri. You can play ATV race, flyingfox, try the trampolin, and many other cool things. And beyond that, for me, it’s a great place to take photographs. Take a look at the photos.
It’s so cool, huh?? That’s why i’m recommending all tourists and photojournalists to go to Tawangmangu and feel it for themselves.
Well, since this post is too long i don’t want it to get boring for you guys. I’m splitting it in 2 parts. See you in part 2 everybody.
All The photos were taken with my Canon EOS 30D and Tamron 18-250.

Thank you for the comment bang..
The photos were all freshly taken from my camera.
Real jpgs.
I only used photoshop to resize it.
The blue effect is caused by the tungsten white balance that i used to emphasize the blue color of the sky..
Okay, no prob brother..
I’ll be waiting for you both to come here.
And don’t worry. I’ll drive you guys to Tawangmangu.

For consistency and for me to improve my bad english.

Mas…photo2nya bagus2…tapi kalo boleh kasih saran…untuk photo2 pemandangan yang ada event2 tertentu misalnya sunset atau sejenisnya kayaknya lebih bagus diambilnya jangan posisi miring deh…
